i am Africa could have just been another charity t-shirt line with a message of unity.
But, it's time for african designers, and western designers to realize that it'll only keep on reinforcing the idea that "Africa constantly needs aid" .
I believe we have things to offer to the world in general, from the domains of fashion , and music to many others. Africa is a place of ingenuity, creativity, where many low profile entrepreneurs are striving to bring out their great ideas to the general public. It's time to not only create a fundraising t-shirt line, but dare creating a real clothing line; it's time to stop booking african artists only for Nelson Mandela's birthday concert and take real interest in their music. Time to give a chance to the african movie industry in a global fashion !
